With the Geratherm® ph balance you can determine your vaginal pH value and thus receive indications of a disturbed vaginal flora. This is how they recognize bacterial vaginosis or vaginal yeast infections. An acidic vaginal pH of 3.8 to 4.4 is a prerequisite for the body's vaginal protection system to function optimally. Colonization with pathogens and the development of vaginal infections can thus be effectively prevented. The most important and most natural protection against vaginal problems is therefore a healthy vaginal flora.
The result of the test can be easily read from the color scale.
Regular testing during pregnancy can minimize the risk of premature birth.
Each test applicator is individually wrapped in a protective film.
You gently insert the vaginal applicator into your vagina, as if you were using a tampon. Then press the inserted applicator with gentle pressure for about 10 seconds against the back wall of the vagina (towards the rectum pointing towards) so that the pH measuring zone is well moistened. Sufficient humidification is very important for the test evaluation. Then pull out the vaginal applicator and read the result.
We recommend that you carry out the measurement twice a week. This allows you to make sure between check-ups at your gynecologist whether the pH value of your vagina is correct. There is also nothing wrong with carrying out the measurement more frequently. This is particularly recommended if you have already suffered from vaginal infections during pregnancy or even had a premature birth, but also if you frequently suffer from intimate complaints such as itching, burning, an unpleasant odor or increased discharge as part of intimate hygiene.
The measuring range of the Geratherm® pH-Balance includes pH values from 4.0 to 7.0.
If the pH is not in the normal range, there is no need to worry. In this case, please repeat the measurement a few hours later or the next day. If the pH value is still not in the normal range, you should talk to your doctor about the test result so that the cause of this increased pH value can be clarified. Please remember that a variety of factors can temporarily change the vaginal pH value without a disease being present (see also "Important information" in the instructions for use).
You should always consult your doctor if you have the following symptoms and a vaginal pH value that is repeatedly not in the normal range:
